Opus Energy passes 12,000 smart meter milestone

UK electricity supplier Opus Energy has installed 12,000 smart meters
as of the end of 2010, the company
says. It plans to install a further 3,000 within the first few months of
2011.

'In today's uncertain economic climate, there is clearly more pressure on
businesses than ever before to reduce their costs,' said Mike Dwyer of Dulux
Decorating Centres, which uses the technology.
