Call to release green energy cash

Energy Secretary Chris Huhne is facing fresh calls for the immediate release
of money to invest in "green" jobs for Scotland.

The comments were made as the Liberal Democrat MP prepares to visit
Holyrood's Economy, Energy and Tourism Committee to discuss UK energy
policy.

Mr Huhne will also tour two sites, including Longannet power station, to see
developments in energy technology, such as carbon capture and wave power.

Speaking before the Holyrood visit, SNP committee member Rob Gibson repeated
calls for access to the Fossil Fuel Levy - a fund paid by suppliers of
non-renewable energy sources and held in London.

Mr Gibson said: "We want to see the Fossil Fuel Levy transferred to Scotland
so it can boost investment in Scotland now rather than wait and risk
Scotland's great opportunity.
