UK Manufacturing Company to Achieve Energy Management British Standard EN 16001

Camfil Farr, the world leader in the production and development of air filters became the first manufacturing company in the UK to be awarded Energy Management Standard BS EN 16001.

Camfil Farr is a global manufacturer of air filtration equipment and associated services. Camfil’s challenge is to educate property managers and owners about the substantial energy saving opportunities that can be made by replacing existing filter assets with low energy air filters.

BS EN 16001 provides an ideal framework for the systematic management of energy. BS EN 16001 is the standard which specifies the requirements for an energy management system. The standard enables an organisation to develop and implement a policy, identify areas of significantly high energy consumption and target energy reductions.

CAMFIL Objectives
• Better understand the political, legislative, economic and environmental issues facing building owners implementing countrywide best practice in relation to energy management.
• Reduce energy costs using a structured framework and approach.
• Ensure corporate readiness for the demands of the Carbon Reduction Commitment scheme and other impending legislation.
